Plastic Bottle Manufacturer Settles EEOC Sex Discrimination Suit

An Ohio-based plastic bottle and container manufacturer will pay $252,768 and furnish additional relief to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit, according to the EEOC Thursday.

Pretium Packaging, LLC allegedly refused to hire or promote female candidates to fill machine operator positions in Leipsic, Ohio, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said. Two female employees applied but weren't selected for interviews, while male employees and applicants with inferior qualifications were hired, the EEOC said.
