Thomas Finney Studio Leather Shorts & Condom Card Holder
Thomas Finney rose to viral fame with his Fall/Winter 2022 brief-shaped bags. Now, he's doubling down on the expertise earned from his time spent at Thom Browne, master tailor Rocco Ciccarelli, and Club Monaco, as the emerging designer presents a new collection inspired by the Roman ruler, Emperor Hadrian.
Speaking on the inspiration, Finney said: "Emperor Hadrian, the Roman ruler, was known for his interest in the arts and extensive travels throughout the empire. During his journeys, he met Antinous and they developed a deep and passionate love for one another."
This sense of romanticism is portrayed in Finney's progressive leather pieces, starting with a pair of hand-molded brown leather enhanced shorts. Here, the shapes are protruding and sculpted to the male form, highlighting the crotch and buttocks. But this comes after the craftsmanship itself; the hand-made pair is hand-stitched with waxed thread, sees its edges painted, and the piece is finished with gold-stamped branding.
Finney's exploration of the male body is continued with a bust, crafted once again in brown leather and quilted to give the look of sculpted abs. Nipples are marked by brass buttons, something that can also be seen on the bust-effect bag and tote.
Smaller accessories also make the mix this season, with a snapback crown and a condom-print card holder rounding out the collection. Prices range from $200 USD to $4,000 USD and everything is available on Thomas Finney Studios’ website now.
